America has thousands of neighborhoods where families cannot access healthy food. These communities are called food deserts.
At the same time, millions of American veterans possess the leadership, logistics, and operational experience needed to rebuild local food systems.
OZY Community Stores connects these two realities.

A New Mission: Helping our Neighborhoods
As honored retired, disabled, and wounded warriors, we have a new mission – to bring together the neighborhoods we live in and tackle the food desert and food inequalities that affect the United States. Living in our communities, we understand firsthand the challenges of accessing affordable and quality food from local grocery stores. It’s time for us to take back control of our food sources and shopping options, and this is where you, as a veteran, play a vital role.
Identifying Food Deserts and Building Community Grocery Stores
Our existing store model focuses on identifying food deserts in the United States and creating home and community grocery stores, managed by your family, that act as gathering places for your communities.
Through our innovative model, we procure our food supply directly from local farmers and ranchers who are located near the store. This means that the food will go from the farm to your neighborhood store, ensuring maximum freshness and quality.
By supporting local farmers and artisans, we are not only promoting sustainable agriculture but also strengthening the bonds within our community.
We are also helping countless homebase family businesses by providing a platform for success.
Our mission goes beyond just providing food
OZY’s is committed to uniting our neighbors and creating a vibrant community hub and Learning Center.
Store 1, our pilot grocery store, successfully united the neighborhood in less than 4 weeks, demonstrating the power of community-driven initiatives.
We will host a range of social events, classes and activities to further strengthen the bonds between neighbors and create a sense of belonging.

Working Together for a Brighter Future
As retired, disabled, and wounded warriors, we have a unique opportunity to make a significant difference in our communities. By coming together and leveraging our collective skills and experiences, we can address the root causes of food inequality, social challenges, and education and create lasting change. Let’s work together to build a future where every neighborhood has access to high-quality, affordable, and locally sourced food.
